Poolside cocktails during summer are life. My whole life I grew up with a shimmering blue pool right outside my bedroom to step into and we pretty much lived in it when those summer days got too hot. I even used to study in the pool… Not having a pool is really strange for us because, living in South Africa, having a pool is a necessity. It makes sense why people don’t have pools in the Netherlands of course, most of the time they would most likely freeze over it gets so cold (I may be over-exaggerating a little). But when we visit SA we usually spend most of our days by the poolside soaking up every ray of sunshine.
My dad and our gardener have created the most incredible veggie garden and have a huge harvest of granadillas every year. We could actually sell them there’s so many. So after eating a boatload and still having leftovers, we have to get creative. Welcome the Granadilla Poolside Cocktail!
I’m a sucker for cocktails and having them homemade where you get to choose the quantity of sugar (and alcohol) in them is just pie-in-the-sky. Granadillas are super high in vitamin C and are amazing for boosting your immune system. So for a cocktail this a pretty healthy one. Most cocktails are flavoured and sweetened by syrups so having this cocktail naturally flavoured and sweetened by the passion fruit is great.
Having a yummy cocktail and snack after swimming a few laps is nothing but refreshing. I love having my summer peach and cream cheese toast as a poolside snack.
Mix this Granadilla Poolside Cocktail up and jump into your bikini for a beautifully relaxing day sipping cocktails and soaking up the sun by the poolside.
