Strawberry and Cinnamon Soy Latte
Curling up to read a book without a hot cup of… well anything, just isn’t the same right?? I know I need to have a good cuppa coffee or fruity tea to really enjoy and get into the pages, any of you the same? If not then you clearly haven’t had a good brand of tea!
Anyways, I bought soy milk and was dying to try making my own soy lattes. I’m sure you’ve seen the prices of these creamy beauties at cafés and when you’re on a budget, this isn’t the first thing you want to throw your money at (for me anyways, I can just hear Jessica’s around the world protesting this is what money is there for). Moving along swiftly!
While “Golden Turmeric” and “Red Velvet Beet” lattes are amazing, I wanted my create my own flair in my soy latte. And so I came up with a flirty mix of “Strawberry and Cinnamon” soy latte. Cute huh? Now this is something to curl up to with a good book while soaking up some afternoon rays.
- 2 strawberries
- 250ml soy milk
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon honey
- Dash of Himalayan salt
- Cut the stems off of the strawberries and mash the flesh in a bowl.
- In a saucepan, put the milk, smooshed strawberries, cinnamon, honey and the dash of salt.
- Stir the liquid until combined. Allow to heat up to a comfortable drinking temperature but do not, and this is important!, allow to simmer or boil as this will curdle it.
- Pour into your favourite mug, add a sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy!
